Many people are told by their health care providers that multiple sclerosis is untreatable, that it is a disease that can only be managed. To some, it’s a disease that they’re told they will “just have to live with.” As a Phoenix, AZ upper cervical chiropractor who cares, I stand for a world where individuals are empowered to rise above their health challenges and live life to the fullest, especially those with multiple sclerosis.
MS has many classic signs and symptoms and chances are if you have MS you already know all of them. You also know by personal experience that MS is a diagnosis that can define and consume you. You may have had multiple tests done, blood work, MRI’s, etc. looking at various things. So rather than telling you some things you already know here are a few natural remedies that you may have not tried in the past that have been shown to give noticeable improvements in symptoms and the management of MS.
Eat one serving of organic salmon at least three times a week with a combination of vegetables. The most nutrient-dense vegetables are kale, spinach, broccoli, cucumbers, and cabbage. Any combination of these is great. Salmon contains large amounts of omega-3 fats which are key in nerve repair. In MS, the myelin sheath is breaking down rapidly. It’s composed of mostly fats and omega-3 fats are monumental in repair.
Avoid carbonated soda and processed sugars. Our body recognizes foods and drinks with high amounts of processed sugars as waste. When we consume a lot of waste products the body uses large amounts of energy on detoxification. Eliminating the waste products, to begin with, will allow the body to use more energy on healing and repair. Doing so will also reduce the amount of fatigue those with MS often experience.
Soak up the sun. Those with MS are often deficient in Vitamin D, the best source being sun exposure. If you can spend at least twenty minutes a day in the sun it will increase your Vitamin D levels. And who knows, it might even encourage physical activity which is also helpful for those with MS.
If you feel you have tried everything and still struggle with the symptoms associated with MS give us a call. We might be the missing piece to everything you’ve tried. At Horizon Chiropractic Center we test the function of the nervous system. Many people diagnosed with MS have a nervous system that operates around 50% of what it’s capable of. One reason the body is not healing and repairing could be because the communication to the nerve cell, and vice versa, is not communicating at 100% leading to the deterioration of the myelin sheath and other spinal nerves resulting in a lack of healing.
Visit drcameroncall.com to schedule a complimentary consultation to have your nervous system evaluated and see if you are a good candidate for our care.
